Hello,

I hope this is the correct forum to ask for advice. Please forgive me
if it is not and could you direct me to the appropriate group.

My daughter is looking to build a web site for a school project. The
programs we have seen are somewhat "complicated".

Can anyone make a recommnedation for a free to use and above all easy
to use web tool?

Thanks in advance.

Dear user (you don't really need to be anonymous):

Is the project based on content & presentation and/or does it require
that she hand-code the HTML?

For a free What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) editor, check out
Nvu (pronounced "N-view"). You can download it at http://www.nvu.com .
There have been a number of public beta versions, and version 1.0 was
released in June.

By the way, I also have a forum for web design & frontpage on my site
at http://www.terrystockdale.com/forums/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7 .
Several articles talk about Nvu and there are links to it and to a
multi-page Nvu web design tutorial.

If she needs to code the HTML by hand, she can do that in the HTML
window of Nvu.

What do I use? Generally I use EditPad Pro, which is a programmer's
text editor, to code HTML, CSS and PHP. I use FrontPage 2003
occasionally and have dabbled with Nvu.
